QUALIFICATIONS, TESTING and INTERVIEW PROCESS
Be prepared to take tests and quizzes galore during the hiring process. These companies are hiring you to work from home and likely will NEVER see you face-to-face. In most cases, the only way to find out if you are really qualified for the job, is to test you and test you and test you. For most typing jobs the requirements will be a minimum of 65wpm with greater than 85% accuracy. For most call center jobs the requirements will be a minimum of 1-2 years call center, customer service, or sales experience. Each company will state the qualifications based on the job title (just like any corporate job you might apply for). You will have to complete an online application and possibly submit a resume. You will likely have a phone interview. If any up-selling is involved, be expected to sell the interviewer some impossible item such as a glass that is “half-full of water”.
In all cases, once accepted to a particular project, you will be trained for that project and then TESTED again to make sure you completely understand the system before you get officially “hired” and put to work. Most companies do provide on-the-job PAID training; however, some do not pay you for this time.
Before any interview, write out a one page summary about yourself and all of your qualifications. Make sure the qualifications you list match EXACTLY or BETTER, the qualifications of the particular job title. Remember, the interviewer cannot see you, so a cheat sheet doesn’t hurt you!
